Whilst canoeing down a particular section of the river with guests, we noticed something strange on the river bank. Upon closer inspection, we saw a male spotted genet fighting for its life whilst being trapped in a jinn trap(trap for poachers). Luckily due to the fact that the poor animal was so tired from his struggle, we were able to get it free from the trap and place it in a safe container. The genet was then seen to by Darren from the Raptor and Reptile Centre in Addo, where its arm had to be amputated, but is now successfully rehabilitated and back in the wild.
